Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina Welcomes New Team Member and Announces Staff Advancements

SOUTH CAROLINA – (January 21, 2025) The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is delighted to announce the addition of Ashlee McGandy as Grants Manager, as well as celebrate the promotions of Hiller Davenport to Chief of Staff and Sarah Katherine “SK” Catalano to Director of Community Engagement.

Ashlee McGandy joins the Foundation as Grants Manager. In her role, Ashlee will support applicants and grantees throughout the grant life cycle. Additionally, she will assist team members with internal tasks related to grant processes, lead grants management software use, provide technical support, and contribute to general operations of the Foundation.

“Ashlee brings a wealth of experience and passion for supporting impactful initiatives that align with our mission,” expressed Donna Waites, Foundation President. “With her expertise and heart for the work, we are confident that we will continue to strengthen our grantmaking processes and expand our ability to best serve communities across South Carolina.”

Most recently, Ashlee served as Assistant Director of Communications at the Einhorn Center for Community Engagement at Cornell University and brings 15 years of project managerial and communications expertise to the Foundation.

The Foundation is also  proud to recognize two internal promotions:

Hiller Davenport – Chief of Staff

Hiller Davenport, a trusted member of the Foundation team for nearly six years, has been promoted to Chief of Staff. Her contributions have been pivotal in managing strategic projects, supporting the Board of Trustees, and directing the day-to-day operations of the organization. In this elevated role, Hiller will continue to oversee strategic projects, optimize internal processes, support executive operations, and enable leadership to focus on high-level decision-making. “Hiller’s unwavering dedication and leadership have been indispensable to our success. We look forward to her continued impact in this new capacity,” Waites added.

SK Catalano – Director of Community Engagement

For the past three years, SK has played an integral role at the Foundation, leading outreach efforts to support research and advocacy initiatives. In her new role as Director of Community Engagement, SK will collaborate with leadership to develop initiatives that amplify the Foundation’s mission. In addition to building and strengthening community relationships across the state, SK will continue to represent the Foundation in fostering partnerships and advocacy efforts. “We are thrilled to see SK step into this expanded role, where her passion and vision will continue to drive meaningful connections,” said Waites.
