Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
We are unwavering in our dedication to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and to being an anti-racist and anti-oppressive organization. Through intentionality, hard work and tangible actions, we embed these values in all parts of our work. We use our resources, influence and statewide presence to encourage others to join us and to make South Carolina more equitable for all people — especially for those experiencing poverty.
We embrace diversity
We value the diversity of our staff, volunteers, vendors and partners. Diversity makes us stronger and more effective as an organization and is vital to our strength and success.
We advance equity
We work to ensure fair treatment, access, opportunity and advancement for people who are experiencing poverty as well as the front-line organizations providing them services.
We promote inclusion
We continually work to create an environment in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported and valued.
We encourage belonging
We value the experience of being a full member of the Foundation community, as individuals and organizations. They are free to be their authentic self, having confidence their voice will be heard and their views respected.
President’s Fellows
The President’s Fellow program gives African American male students at Benedict College the opportunity to gain real-life experience to enhance their college career and future professional opportunities. Fellows are exposed to all aspects of philanthropy, including grantmaking, financial management, community building, public policy and issue-driven initiatives.
