Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina: A Year of Listening
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina’s 2025 Annual Report highlights our deeper focus on systems change and the launch of our new strategic plan. As President Donna Waites and Board of Trustees Chair Lee Pearson write in their introduction letter of the report, 2025 was “defined by a single, vital intention: listening. From launching research that centered the voices and experiences of individuals experiencing poverty to envisioning the opportunity our Foundation has to move our work forward, we were called to lean into the human dignity of all South Carolinians throughout the year to guide us forward.”
Highlights from the year:
- Awarded $2,970,250 in grants to 235 organizations
- Served communities in all 46 South Carolina counties
- Designed and launched a 2026-2028 Strategic Plan
- Published two community-centered research studies about the state of poverty in South Carolina
Sisters of Charity Health System: A Collective Story of Impact
The Foundation is also part of the Sisters of Charity Health System, which recently released its 2025 Impact Report.
Across the ministries, programs and foundations of the Sisters of Charity Health System, we see impact every day — in the lives of individuals and families who find care, stability, opportunity and hope through our work. The Impact Report is our shared opportunity to step back, come together and tell that story — not as individual organizations, but as one connected ministry.
This report represents more than numbers. It is a reflection of a collective mission in action that spans Cleveland, Canton and South Carolina, where each of us plays a distinct role in advancing healing, service and human dignity.
