Supporting Partners: The Importance of Trust, Shared Learning, and Growth

Foundation President and Program Director featured on Network for Good’s Accidental Fundraiser podcast

SOUTH CAROLINA – (October 3, 2022)

In a recent episode of Network for Good’s Accidental Fundraiser podcast, President, Donna Waites, and Program Director, Meredith Mathews, provide insight into the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina’s approach to grantmaking, capacity building, and support “beyond the grant.” Donna shares that “When you have the tools, you can do the job”— explaining that funders have a responsibility to ensure grantee partners have the resources they need to do their work well. They also discuss the power of nonprofit organizations using both data AND stories to showcase impact in the lives of the communities they serve across South Carolina. Listen in as Donna and Meredith discuss the role of trust in the Foundation’s grantmaking by creating space for grantee partners to share their expertise and experience, identify the tools they need to meet their missions, and define what success looks like.
