Maria Kotsaka Kratsios, Ph.D. is the Associate for Advanced Programs at Richland School District Two. She is responsible for leading and managing program operations for the Gifted and Talented, the Arts, and the Tri- District Arts Consortium across the 28,000-student district. She is the recipient of the 2014-2015 South Carolina Arts Education Association Administrator of the Year award, the 2015 Richland Two Innovates Award, and the Richland School District Two “Thinking Outside the Box” Award.
Mrs. Kratsios currently serves on the boards of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina and the Roper Mountain Science Association in Greenville, South Carolina. She is also a Founder and board member of the Columbia Museum of Art’s Friends of African American Art and Culture. Mrs. Kratsios previously served on the boards of Healthy Learners and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Mrs. Kratsios received a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics from Carlow University, an M.S. in Biochemistry from Duquesne University, an M.S. in Public Health from the University of Pittsburg, and a Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics Education from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia.
