Preston Alexander & Christopher Shepherd, 2020-21 President’s Fellows

Current President’s Fellows

Preston Alexander (left) is from Gainesville, Florida and is in his sophomore year at Benedict College where he majors in Business Administration with a minor in management and currently holds a 3.4 GPA.

He is actively involved in campus life and serves as a Student Ambassador and Women’s Basketball trainer. Preston is one of seven recipients of the Tyrone Adan Burroughs Scholarship Program at Benedict College which will allow him to further his studies at Benedict College. Preston was first exposed to nonprofit organizations through his mother, who operates A Rai of Sunshine, an organization that gives back to youth in the community who are living with ADHD and mental health disorders.  While Preston hopes to pursue a career in real estate, he is also committed to continuing his mother’s work in the nonprofit sector. As a President’s Fellow, Preston hopes to develop the communication and public speaking skills needed to become a leader in business and philanthropy.

Christopher Shepherd (right) is from Denmark, South Carolina and is in his second year at Benedict College where he majors in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and currently holds a 3.3 GPA.

Christopher is a proud member of the United States Army and is committed to giving back to his hometown community. In the future, Christopher aspires to start a nonprofit organization that will bring together upperclassmen and alumni of Denmark Olar High School to mentor students in the surrounding area. As a President’s Fellow, Christopher hopes to further his professional development as well as increase his awareness and understanding of poverty in South Carolina.
