2018 Unsung Hero Award – Submission Deadline: Tuesday, July 31, 2018
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is currently accepting nominations for the 2018 Unsung Hero Award for individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary care to enhance the well-being of children in South Carolina’s kinship families. Formal (licensed) and informal (non-licensed) kinship caregivers in South Carolina who have provided care for a relative’s child throughout the preceding year or longer are eligible for nomination (fictive kin are also eligible).
Nominators can only submit one nomination. Nominators are encouraged to contact the person they wish to nominate in order to review the award criteria and provide the most detailed information needed to prepare their nomination.
Selected winners will be invited to attend a 2018 Statewide Kinship Care Summit for special recognition during lunch on one of three possible dates and locations: Charleston, Columbia and Greenville. The specific dates and locations are to be determined. Winners will be presented during the luncheon with a $200 honorarium, a customized award and featured in a press release/news story by the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.
Nominations will be reviewed by selected members of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina’s Statewide Kinship Care Advisory Council. Winners will be notified of their selection mid-August. Questions regarding nomination submissions can be directed to email@example.com.
