In his role as Project Coordinator and Special Assistant, Mark will assist the President with all governance functions pertaining to the Board of Trustees including the Executive, Governance and Finance Committees. He will be actively involved in the Foundation’s day to day operations including scheduling, purchasing, accounts receivable, and a host of other responsibilities. He will also play an integral part in the Foundation’s strategic planning process beginning next year.
A native of South Carolina, Mark moved to the Midlands in 1991, when he attended the University of South Carolina to study psychology. Mark joined the corporate sector, working a position with cable construction and finance for over 16 years. He ventured into real estate with Sweet T Realty, LLC, in 2015, and remains a licensed agent. Following his heart, Mark moved into the nonprofit world, working with the United Way Association of South Carolina before joining the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.
Mark is a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, and has been active in various community activities over the years, including singing with the Dutch Fork and Columbia Choral Societies, and fundraising for Camp Kemo through efforts with the Airport High School Mr. Eagle Contest. Mark has also served on several philanthropic boards, and is most proud of his work with The Justin Pepper Foundation, where he served as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees.
Mark is excited about working for change at the Foundation and believes in reaching his goals, and helping others reach theirs. He is passionate about his family and friends, especially his two nephews, 10 and 7, who have his heart.
