Collaboration: Breaking the Silos
A cord with three strands is not easily broken. If you have a need in your community or organization, why reinvent the wheel? There are others doing phenomenal things right in your own back yard–join them!
Session Objectives:
- Learn the fundamentals about how to collaborate with others to accomplish your organization’s goals;
- Use collaboration to meet the needs in your community;
- Become more attractive to funders through collaboration; and
- Hear from a funder and how other nonprofits are successfully using collaborations in their communities.
About the facilitator:
Melanie Colclough has over 14 years serving non-profits, faith based organizations, and school districts. She received an MPA from the City University of NY (CUNY – Baruch College) and a BA from the University of South Carolina (USC). She also earned grant writing certifications from USC and the National State Office of Rural Health. Melanie is a National Urban Fellow, an alumna of Leadership South Carolina and a member of the MUSC Board of Visitors, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pi Alpha Alpha and vice chairman of the Richland County CASA Foundation board. She a graduate of the Francis Marion University Non-Profit Leadership Institute and the Duke University Non-Profit Management certification program. Melanie is a facilitator for Financial Peace University, a financial wellness program.
