Katrina Spigner serves as Senior Program Director for the Foundation.
In this role, Ms. Spigner is responsible for specific Grantee-Initiated grantmaking functions including design, grant review, implementation, and management processes for the Strategic grantmaking program. Additionally, Ms. Spigner provides management and oversight of the evaluative work conducted on behalf of the Grantee-Initiated grantmaking effort. Ms. Spigner facilitates the communication and networking of Grantee-Initiated programs. She also provides organizational coaching for the Foundations Strategic grant grantees. Ms. Spigner is the staff representative to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees Grants committee.
Ms. Spigner provides oversight of the Foundation’s Carolina Academy. She is responsible for the development and implementation of capacity building opportunities for nonprofit organizations and nonprofit leaders across the state. Ms. Spigner also provides oversight of strategic partnerships associated with the Carolina Academy and serves as faculty liaison between the Foundation and Columbia College.
Ms. Spigner serves as the Foundation’s representative for diversity with the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System. In this role, she coordinates diversity education and provides diversity information and updates to the Governance committee of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Ms. Spigner represents the Foundation as a speaker and facilitator to both internal and external audiences.
Ms. Spigner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in organizational leadership at Northeastern University.
Prior to joining the Foundation staff in 2005, Ms. Spigner served as the director of field internships and social work lecturer at Columbia College. She continues to teach as an adjunct instructor at Columbia College.
Ms. Spigner is a 2006 Southeastern Council of Foundations Hull Fellow. She serves on numerous boards and committees to include, Clemson University Youth Learning Institute Advisory Board, Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System Diversity Task Force. She is a member of the International Leadership Association, International Coach Federation, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Spigner is a published author and a certified personal and executive coach.
