Foundation Represented on the Hill
Tom Keith, executive director of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, was one of seven funders representing South Carolina at the Foundations on the Hill 2007. On February 27-28, 2007 the Council of Foundations and Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers met in Washington, DC for Foundations on the Hill 2007. They participated in a legislative briefing session to provide an update on current legislative activities affecting philanthropy and cover the key message points for meetings with Senators and Congressmen. Tom and the six other representatives met with various Senators and Representatives, including with Congressmen Joe Wilson, John Spratt and Jim Clyburn, to discuss the values and importance of philanthropy among Foundations.
