January Session for Non-Profits

The Foundation will host a Mission-Effectiveness in Transitional Times non-profit information session on Wednesday, January 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the South Carolina Archives and History Center. The event is open to South Carolina non-profits.

Speakers include “Notes from a Non-Profitable Life” author and former Southeastern Council of Foundations CEO and President Martin Lehfeldt, Winthrop University’s Nell Walker, Weathers Group’s Charles Weathers on strategic planning and board governance, Jackie Breland & Associates, P.A.’s Jackie Breland on financial management and fund raising and Tom Keith, president of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.

The event is free and is limited to the first 200 registrants. To allow room for more organizations, only two representatives per organization may register and attend. The deadline to register for the non-profit information session is January 21, 2009. To register,

2009 Learning Academy Workshops

The 2009 Learning Academy workshops have been set. To allow for more interaction and learning opportunities, each workshop is limited in size. Participation in the workshop is determined by a selective process, requiring the submission of a completed application form. Check the Foundations Web site to see upcoming workshops and to see when applications are available.
