Foundation Awards $541,110 in Grants
June 2, 2010
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded nine Responsive Grants totaling $541,110 to nonprofit and faith-based organizations across South Carolina.
Responsive Grants are designed to address the root causes of poverty using strategic methods that allow the Foundation to work closely with grantees and develop collaborative relationships by selectively offering focused technical assistance and more intentional monitoring through site visits. Responsive Grants are awarded once a year.
“These organizations are working to address poverty in South Carolina through their programs and services,” said Yvonne Orr, board chair of the Foundation. “It is our hope that this funding will help strengthen these organizations as they serve those in need.”
Organizations wishing to apply for funding should visit the Foundation’s Web site, for information on the application process. The next grant application deadline is the first Tuesday in November.
