Responsive grants are designed to address the root causes of poverty. These grants are designed to allow the Foundation to work more closely with potential grantees before and after a grant award. The Foundation seeks to develop collaborative relationships by selectively offering focused technical assistance and more intentional monitoring through site visits.

While the Foundation does not place a specific limit on funds requested, all requests submitted for consideration by the Foundation should be realistic and will be viewed in proportion to funds available for Foundation grants. Grant award amounts will vary depending on the requirements of each funding proposal, and can be awarded over a period of three years.

Potential applicants should review the mission and focus of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.  If there seems to be an appropriate match, the applicant should complete a pre-application. Pre-applications must be completed and submitted by the first Tuesday in March: online applications are due by 11:59 p.m., mailed applications must be post marked March 2, 2010 and hand delivered applications must reach the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on March 2, 2010.
