The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine began their healthcare ministry in the Diocese of Cleveland. The Sisters became known for meeting the health, education and social needs of the poor, making “In all things charity” their motto.
The Sisters came to Columbia, South Carolina to establish Providence Hospital, and began their service to the poor in our state.
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina was developed.
The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine celebrated 75 years of Providence Hospital’s commitment to the community.
